Vulture Culture - Concept and Direction
Choreographed music theatre show, commissioned by the Henley Music Festival, in which a society, depicted as an orchestra, crush new creatures until they learn to fight back. It was performed outside by a cast of fifty actors, dancers and musicians. First presented on the banks of the Thames at Henley, then at the Thames Barrier and Magdalen College Island, Oxford. The show was subsequently adapted for inside performances for TN Theatre, Brisbane, Australia, and scored by composer, Frank Millward, for the Queensland Theatre Orchestra, conducted by John Curro. Text and lyrics by David Gale. In UK, costumes by Sandy Powell, lighting and projections by Simon Corder. In Australia, design by Gillian Page-Lee, lighting by Ian MacColl, sound by Kevin Davidson.
